Postpartum Therapy FAQs

Questions about starting your recovery journey?

1. When should I start postpartum physical therapy?

You can begin as early as 6 weeks postpartum or years later. Whether you're 8 weeks or 8 years postpartum, pelvic floor therapy can help address symptoms and restore function. We also offer prenatal support for birth preparation.

2. Do you accept insurance?

We operate as an out-of-network provider. Many clients use out-of-network benefits for partial reimbursement. We can provide documentation (superbills) to submit to your insurance. Contact us to discuss your specific coverage and payment options.

3. What happens during my first appointment?

Your initial visit is a comprehensive 60-minute evaluation where we assess your pelvic floor, core strength, breathing patterns, alignment, and movement. We discuss your birth experience, symptoms, and goals, then create a personalized treatment plan. You're welcome to bring your baby to appointments.

4. What makes Rooted Pelvic Health different?

We provide full 60-minute one-on-one sessions with your therapist—you're never passed to a rehab aide. We combine hands-on manual therapy with movement-based strategies and never use cookie-cutter exercises. Our whole-body approach addresses your nervous system and physical drivers for lasting results.

5. Can I bring my baby to appointments?

Absolutely! We're a baby-friendly practice. Many of our postpartum clients bring their newborns and infants to sessions. We understand the challenges of finding childcare and want to make your healing journey accessible.
